In 1960 General Motors built the 225 to promote their vehicles. The car was test
driven 10 000 miles round Daytona. It took 3 days and averaged over 130 mph but within
two weeks of the test a Senate Law was passed banning the use of performance testing
in advertising as people were dieing on the roads. This beautiful show-piece was
discontinued after 6 745 were built and the advert shelved. I know of 12 world-wide
and keep looking for more.
Malcolm Bishop of Spurr Cars said of this car, "When you've bought a car like this,
where on earth do you go next?", and he's been selling American classic cars since
the 60's.
